FR9000 Forage Harvesters

Forage harvesting on the largest scale

FR9060studio.jpg More Productivity and Power

Chop more per day with the largest cutterhead in the industry

Fully supporting the evolution towards wider pick-ups, maize attachments and other crop collection systems, the FR9000 features the largest cutterhead and the widest crop processor in the industry.

To handle the high crop volumes the new New Holland chopper is up to 15% wider and has a 15% larger diameter cutterhead than competition.

FR9000CutterheadKnives.jpg The FR9000 cutterhead features two rows of 8, 12 or 16 knives that ensure the highest capacity and chop quality in the widest choice of chop lengths.

The rollers of the crop processor are on an equally large scale for an unrestricted crop flow and overall throughput.

Power Cruise™ system strives for the highest work rate

The Power Cruise™ system is part of a new drive concept. The optimum engine rpm is fixed in the range where the FR9000 performs at maximum capacity. On that basis, the Power Cruise™ system continuously adjusts the unit’s driving speed to reach the highest possible capacity.

FR9000PowerCruise.jpg Controlled by the actual power demand of the harvester, the field speed will automatically adapt for maximum throughput, while operating at the ideal engine rpm, and ensuring precise chop length and increased reliability.

Torque and power for the highest throughput

A power demand increase caused by field or crop conditions is immediately taken care of by the New Holland FR9000’s engine. A torque rise of 25% over a small rpm reduction within the true operating range from 2100 to 1800rpm, will keep the FR9000 going in even the toughest of conditions. Driving confidence of the highest level!

FR9000TorqueGraph.jpg This massive torque rise translates into an increase of up to 54hp(CV) over a reduction from the 2100rpm rated speed to the maximum power at 2000rpm.

This ensures that the dynamic chopping components keep running at high speed for less stress and maximum reliability, while maintaining the highest level of chop quality.

Strongest blowing force in any crop

The patented Variflow™ system has been designed to achieve maximum capacity and blowing efficiency from light and dry to heavy and sticky crops.

FR9000Blower.jpg While switching the Variflow™ system from maize position to grass position, the distance between cutterhead and blower is reduced by 60%.

This close blower position produces a concentrated material delivery to the blower. Directional changes and material dispersal are eliminated, preventing blockages or plugging.

The blower efficiency and capacity is simply supreme.

Cutting Costs While Chopping More

Built to last

FR9000 forage harvesters have simple drivelines and low maintenance requirements.

Accessibility is high and adjustments are easy to carry out.

Maximum driveline reliability is standard as the belt drive to the cutterhead, blower and crop processor, is independent of the HydroLoc™ feeder and attachment drive and the hydrostatic drive.

FR9000VariFlow.jpg Reduced maintenance and an increased working life are important advantages for equipment used on a seasonal basis and they have a favourable impact on overall running costs.

Variflow™ system reduces fuel consumption

Reducing the distance between the cutterhead and blower by 60% when working in grass, dramatically decreases the power requirement of the blower.

Unlike competitive systems, the Variflow™ system virtually maintains the speed of the chopped material as it is transferred from cutterhead to blower. There is no need for re-acceleration.

Tests have shown that the variable position blower reduces the power requirement by around 30kW - 40hp(CV) when working in grass crops.

To further optimise daily performance, especially in periods when chopping grass and maize or whole crop are overlapping, the New Holland Variflow™ system offers more significant advantages. It takes less than two minutes for one person, without tools, to shift between the two positions.FR9000Cutterhead.jpg

Efficient chopping

The largest cutterhead in the industry runs smoothly thanks to its high inertia that compensates for possible peak loads.

Furthermore, the position of crop processor and blower in any crop, boosts throughput for optimal chopping efficiency and fuel consumption.

FR9000 - the clean energy leader

All FR9000 models are factory approved to run on 20% B20 Biodiesel fuels.

New Holland was the first agricultural manufacturer to fully endorse the use of biodiesel in its power units.

FR9000Engine.jpg This follows extensive testing that encompassed all aspects of engine performance including fuel efficiency, fuel pump and engine wear, cold temperature starting performance and effects on service intervals. Contact your dealer for further details.

Engineered to save on fuel: Turbo Compound engine

New Holland recognises the benefits of Turbo Compound technology and is the first to apply it in agricultural equipment.

By using the energy that is left in the exhaust gases leaving the turbo charger, this state-of -the-art technology reduces fuel consumption by 8% with the same engine power. On a high horse power engine this means a saving of many litres of fuel.

FR9000Transport.jpg Turbo compound technology transmits the power to the engine crankshaft via a hydrodynamic coupling, without mechanical contact. This advanced technology is found in the Iveco Cursor engine of the FR9060.

20% less fuel on the road

Tests have revealed that on the road a fuel saving of 20% is achieved by the application of the Power Cruise™ driving system.

When maximum engine rpm is limited, the unit still travels at 40kph.

On top of the important fuel and money saving, the lower engine speed results in a much quieter and more comfortable drive.

FR9000ChopQuality.jpg Chop Quality on Demand

No compromise on chop quality

New Holland recognises the variety of chop length requirements indicated by nutritionists and livestock specialists and understands the need for contractors to meet the demands of customers.

Depending on the crop and the feedstuff mixing and distribution system, there are specific requirements in terms of chop quality and consistency and the extent of crop processing.

New Holland FR9000 forage harvesters offer exactly what is required whatever the crop and the customer’s preference.

Chop length control at your fingertips

The HydroLoc™ feed roll drive system provides instant on-the move chop length adjustment to suit your specific requirements.

The efficient hydrostatic drive of the feed rolls results in a more consistent chop length. This drive system also helps ensure an instant response in case of metal contamination.

Optimising the cutting precision

In dry maize, a clean chop between shearbar and knives is further improved by optimizing the knife profile.

This as achieved by adding the facility for knife sharpening and shearbar adjustment with the cutterhead running in reverse.

FR9000Road.jpg As aggressive as you wish

The wide crop processor has been designed for efficient kernel cracking and maximum crop transfer.

The large-diameter rolls with their saw-tooth profile help ensure optimum processing.

Absolute Driving Pleasure

The ultimate drive

The new driving concept, specifically designed for forage harvesters, optimises the control of the driving speed and boosts daily output.

The Power Cruise™ system makes driving the New Holland FR9000 range a true pleasure.

It helps ensure that the engine speed to transmission ratio is always at the highest degree of efficiency.

The drive mode reduces fuel consumption and noise on the road, the field mode increases the work rate on the land.

FRcabInterior.jpg Automatic functions further increase operator efficiency

An automatic headland function that avoids spilling during headland turns, pick-up reel speed to ground-speed synchronisation, auger-speed to feeder-speed synchronisation and return of the header to cutting height are all automated functions that increase operator efficiency.

Also the spout set points, which position the spout at the same angle when working to the right or to the left of the trailer, add to the ease of operation.

Superb stability when driving on the road

The longitudinal position of the engine allows a lower engine position.

Un-matched on-road stability, even with the heaviest attachment and at the highest speed (40kph), is combined with excellent visibility to the rear of the harvester.

FRintelliView.jpg A well informed operator

Permanently operating with the right information is a prerequisite of maximum capacity.

The new IntelliView™ ll monitor, has a wide colour screen.

Thanks to this wide screen and the use of colour, information is displayed in a very structured way so that the operator finds what he needs at a glance.

For the quick locating of a metal object, the MetaLoc™ system shows in which section of the feedrolls the detection has been made on the colour monitor.

Front, back, left, right and in between!

The new bowl-shaped cab provides total 360° visibility. The cab doors have not only been designed for great access to the cab but have also been shaped for outstanding visibility regardless of spout position.

New Holland FR9000 forage harvesters – unequalled visibility of the crop in front, of the spout and of the trailer.
