Zirkon 7/300 (for tractors up to 140hp)
- Zirkon 9/300 (for tractors up to 200hp)
The ultimate power harrow range – precision engineering, robust design,
low operational costs and high hectare performance. Ideally suited for
the large-scale farmer and contractor. Can be used in conjunction with
Solitair pneumatic seed drill.
RIGID, HEAVY DUTY GEAR TROUGH PROVIDES SMOOTH RUNNING EFFICIENCY
The heart of the Zirkon power harrow is the gear trough with it's
advanced design. Heavy gauge steel is used to form the monocoque trough
in which large capacity bearing housings are welded. These are
precisely bored on a CNC machine to ensure parallel alignment of rotors
and highly accurate tolerances between the gears.
Each rotor is manufactured from a one-piece forging and mounted on
heavy-duty bearings, which are sealed on both sides to retain lubricant
and prevent the ingress of foreign material.
The distortion free trough ensures the shafts and gears locate
precisely thereby providing effortless smooth running and a long
working life. The transmission is clutch protected and carries a
two-year warranty.
BLADES: RESISTANT TO WEAR AND EASY TO DRIVE
The Zirkon blades are strategically shaped inwards to provide the
maximum amount of cultivation with the minimum horsepower requirement
and wear.
Reduced fuel consumption.
Sequential positioning reduces transmission shock loads.
Design allows stones and rocks to pass through problem-free.
Long working life.
A special hardening process ensures the blades are sufficiently hard to
reduce wear but tough enough to prevent breakage. Blades with hard
facing in the critical wear areas are available and provide an
exceptionally long working life with the added advantage of reduced
downtime.
Large diameter high tensile bolts secure the blades onto round rotor
flanges and forged threaded blocks are used in preference to nuts. The
bolt heads are easily accessible for speedy replacement.
SMOOTH AND QUIET OPERATION, RESULTING FROM PRECISION ENGINEERING AND SEQUENTIAL BLADE MOUNTING
All Zirkon models feature the optimum 4-rotors per metre. This provides
the ideal balance between horsepower requirement, blade rotation speed,
blade wear, work rate and tilth required.
The blades are mounted sequentially which ensures a consistent load on
the transmission. This prevents side to side movement of the machine
when working in tough conditions and also protects a combination drill
from excess vibration.
ROBUST, HIGH CAPACITY MULTI-SPEED GEARBOX
The Zirkon gearboxes are engineered to transmit high horsepower smoothly, reliably and efficiently.
All components are heat-treated, in addition the shafts and gears are surface hardened. A wide choice of gear ratios are available to match rotor speeds to the horsepower available and the seedbed tilth required.
The gearbox casing is a heavy-duty casting with cooling ribs. These
increase the casings surface area and assist in dispelling the heat
thereby controlling the temperature of the lubricant.
The transmission is protected by a highly efficient clutch which is
fitted to the PTO drive shaft. For smooth transmission of power and
extended PTO life the gearbox input shaft is positioned centrally on
the machine.
ZIRKON HEADSTOCK: ATTENTION TO DETAIL
The headstock is designed with mounting positions for a rear 'A' frame
or hydraulic linkage to carry a combination seed drill, it also has an
integrated toolbox.
The one-piece drawbar is manufactured from high-grade spring steel
which allows a degree of flexing thereby absorbing shock loads in work
and transport. This is mounted to adjustable lower link arms, which
enables the power harrow to be correctly positioned close to the rear
of the tractor.
OPTIMUM LEVELLING
Consistently level seedbeds are achieved with the unique Zirkon
rear-levelling bar. A front mounted levelling bar is available as an
option.
The rear roller mounting allows the power harrow to raise up, over
buried obstacles without lifting the entire weight of the pack roller.
The roller frame also carries the rear-levelling bar and this system
produces a consistently level surface finish even in difficult
conditions.
The levelling bar is multi-adjustable and equipped with lifting handles for ease of adjustment.
The grading angle of the bar is designed to push surface stones into
the tilth whilst carrying sufficient soil to level the seedbed prior to
the roller.
SIMPLE, VERSATILE ROLLER ADJUSTMENT
The required cultivation depth is easily achieved with the simple pin adjustment.
These pins may be set to rigidly hold the roller or alternatively to
provide a degree of float between the harrow and roller which is ideal
in stony conditions.
The roller position in relation to the power harrow is also adjustable.
This adjustment is beneficial when used in combination.
HEAVY GAUGE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SIDE GUARDS
Whilst offering safety protection these vertically adjustable side
guards minimise the over-spill of soil between cultivation passes.
They also raise up allowing large stones and rocks to pass out of the
cultivating chamber. When raised up onto the trough the 3-metre Zirkon
power harrows are within the 3 metre overall width, required for
transport.
